TPS for Ukraine after Oct. 19, 2026: what the USCIS website says
The current period of TPS (Temporary Protected Status) for Ukraine on the USCIS page is stated as until Oct. 19, 2026. On that day USCIS updated the page: the decision on TPS for Ukraine will be announced later, and until it is made, protection remains.
We checked each item on Nov. 3, 2026 against the primary source linked in the item. Rules and fees change: check the USCIS website before filing.
What changed
- The USCIS page (updated Oct. 19, 2026) says: an announcement about TPS for Ukraine will be made in due course.
- Until such an announcement, Ukrainians in the U.S. under TPS retain protection, including work authorization.
- If you still meet the TPS requirements and your EAD application (Form I-765) is still pending, USCIS sends a notice of EAD extension until Oct. 19, 2026: by mail and to your myUSCIS account, if you have one.
- As of Nov. 3, 2026, we did not find any Federal Register notice on TPS for Ukraine after June 1, 2026.
Quote from the primary source
Until such announcement is made, Ukrainian individuals present in the U.S. under TPS retain protection including work authorization.
In short: until the announcement is made, Ukrainians in the U.S. under TPS retain protection, including work authorization.
